I went to see the Stylistics in person for the 1st time about 3 years ago. I know some of you diehard Russell Thompkins fans may get upset but I was resentful initially from just seeing them on TV and thinking them to be just a blah act. They sang all of the hits opening with 'Rock and Roll Baby' and of course closing with 'You Make Me Feel Brand New' singing, 'You're a Big Girl Now', 'Children of the Night', 'Betcha By Golly Wow' and all of their hits in between. His voice was crystal clear and with the sophisticated moves, lighting and audience repartee, they put on an excellent show. He didn't crack, strain, croak or miss a beat. The young man who leads has an excellent voice. They had the Liacouras Center (a large venue) in the palm of their hands.

Thompkins as he is a great singer and look forward to seeing him in the near future but the 'other' Stylistics were fantastic. They were the headliners and I started to leave before they came on as I had some preconceived ideas about them.

I saw the 'other' group on Valentine's Day thanks to LC and I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised. Out of respect for the Russell Thompkins thread, I decided to start one on the 'other' Stylistics.
